Tandy gets the family to avoid the news media and not talk to anyone. She promises them facts but she never delivers. And the writer is correct that by the time the family figures out Tandy has hoodwinked them into laying low and not ask questions or talk to the media it's too late to get the facts or get the media to investigate. The family gets a sudden awakening when they learn that Tandy's phone is either always busy or she is unavailable. SOP
